Hot Purple Energy is looking forward to celebrating World Environment Day with the local community this year and is excited to take part in sponsoring an educational and fun event!  The event’s host, CREEC  (California Regional Environmental  Education Community) is an organization that focuses on enhancing the environmental literacy  of both students and teachers throughout the state of California and has divided itself into regions to reach more communities including our very own Coachella Valley.

CREEC’s Annual Coachella Valley Environmental Art Contest and Exhibition is an opportunity for children, artists, and community members to get creative while depicting the EARTH both in its natural form and/or the issues the natural environment is facing.

*This is a family-friendly event and is open to the public.

Hot Purple Energy is excited to host its sixth annual Architectural Bike Tour during Modernism Week. This year we are celebrating famed local architect William Krisel by starting the tour on the newly-minted William Krisel Way, adjacent to the Ocotillo Lodge and will then head south through the neighborhoods of Twin Palms, Indian Canyons, Kings Point, and Canyon View Estates. The tour is planned as a group event, however maps will be available and the route is clearly marked to allow riders the opportunity to explore on their own, if they wish. The route is approximately 7 miles, with an optional 3 mile loop.

The route is relatively flat and can be done on both a cruiser or road bike.

Just a friendly reminder that unfortunately we do not provide bikes. Please bring your own bike, or contact Bike Wheel Tours about renting one from them at the start of the route; please contact them at gotouring@bwbtours.com with inquiries and to make a reservation.

There will be a designated water stop along the route at the Krisel Butterfly House located in the Indian Canyons neighborhood. After the tour, join your fellow riders for a post-ride party at Appetito Cal-Italian Bar and Eatery (1700 S. Camino Real).

Please RSVP for this event by e-mailing RSVP@HotPurpleEnergy.com with your name and the number in your party, so that we can be sure to have enough of our signature free tour t-shirts on hand.

Hot Purple Energy is a local solar company that celebrates the architecture of Palm Springs. We enjoy this great opportunity to show off our town and our aesthetically integrated solar systems in a fun and sustainable way.

Six years ago today we launched our Hot Purple Energy onto the Coachella Valley seen with our first event and first flyer.  The message DO SOMETHING FOR THE EARTH EVERY DAY.

This message is as relevant today as it was then.  In fact, it seems the message is gaining in importance globally but also being lost in the fray of our conflicting agendas, party politics, and the old habits of business and economic growth void of an honest long term impact analyses.   We just seem to have a hard time accepting that natural resources are limited or what we do individually or locally is relevant to the state that our planet is or will be.

hot-purple-energy-desert-waterIts Earthday and our Anniversary so we want this email to be a celebration and not a long winded dissertation on the perils of our society …

Rather we ask on this day that you share in taking the time to appreciate the planet we have.  To appreciate it for its wonder and beauty and the life it gives us.  And on this day, let us think about what is the right thing to do to preserve and protect what we have.  To think, what is fair, what is just?  What is our role as individuals in this short time we have on this Earth?   And in that we would hope that we can all agree that the less we destroy of this planet the better.  The less we abuse, the less we use, the less we take away, the better.

The Ecosystem is all we have and we cannot out create it, or ship it in from someplace else. We can’t manufacture it or email it.   No we are grounded literally and figuratively to this planet and it’s nice that we have this day to take a moment and assess how we each chose to live here.

So we thank all of you who are making the efforts and promoting the next generation of commerce that is based on a responsible use of resources.    We will continue to be inspired by those focusing on solving the complex issues of our times. We will continue to be support the solutions that propel us into a better future with economies that support this planet and our survival for the short and long term.

We are recommitted on this day to DOING SOMETHING FOR THE EARTH EVERY DAY and we hope you are too.

HIRE LOCAL ROCK LOCAL

We want to give a big shout out to all those who came and supported our First Annual Working Man’s Jam benefiting both the Desert Contractors’ Association and Desert Valley Builders Association.     The vendors: La Quinta Brew, JAS Taquiza, and CV BBQ crushed it.   The bands, Dave Macias, The Technohillbillies, The Hive Minds and Ideation were awesome! And Mother Nature, thank you for sparing us the rain and making the night just a great chance for all of the local contractors and vendors, friends and foe, haha, a chance to relax and have some fun in our Park E Like Setting.

It’s important for all of us in the Coachella Valley Construction Industry to remember that we are all in this together.  The Valley is a very special place and as we grow and renovate we will be introduced to new comers and out of towners who may or may not have our best interests at heart.  But by being a collective, a unified group supporting good trade practices as well as fairness and friendship, we will ensure that our build out will be done right by good people with good intentions.

Hot Purple Energy has the opportunity to serve the entire Coachella Valley in retrofit and new construction capacity.  Our solar scope brings us in contact with Developers and Tradesmen, Home and Business Owners and many suppliers and real estate agents.  This broad connection is a true blessing as we get to see and interact with each of you and are proud to be able to offer this night, this chance, for us to get together off site and break some bread, share some wine, and enjoy one another’s company.

We look forward to seeing you all on the jobs, at the valley events, and back at HPE for year two of the Working Man’s Jam!
